Ballet Repertory Theatre - Ballet Intensive
June 25 – July 2, 2024, 10:00am - 4pm Daily
This 7 day, 5+ hours per day program is designed to further develop the dedicated intermediate and advanced ballet student’s artistry and technique (equivalent to BRT's levels CI, CII, D, E and professional).
Master teachers will inspire and challenge the dancers with daily ballet technique and pointe or prepointe classes as well as expand their knowledge through variations and cross training with character and stretch & strength classes.
The intensive will conclude with a short studio performance on Tuesday (7/2) at 4:00pm.
Tuition: $460.00
A $60 non-refundable registration fee is due with the application and is applied towards tuition.
The first day, Tuesday 6/25, will be considered placement day. Starting Wednesday, students will be split into levels and will be given their class schedule at the end of the day on Tuesday. Sunday will be off.

* Dancer must bring their own lunch.
Attire and supplies
All dancers will need a yoga mat and a TheraBand approximately 5' for Stretch and Strength
BRT has red medium 6’ TheraBand available for $4 each if needed.
Dancers identifying as female: Any solid colored leotard, pink footed tights, pink leather or canvas ballet shoes, pink pointe shoes with ribbons (for those already en pointe). Black character shoes. Black character skirts (skirts can be borrowed from BRT if you do not own one).
Dancers identifying as male and dancers identifying as non-binary: White form fitting t-shirt (tucked in) with black tights or black leggings and black socks, black ballet shoes. Black jazz pants or straight leg dance pants. Black jazz or character shoes.
2024 Faculty
Jason Davis is a native of Tucson, Arizona, where he began his dance training with Mary-Beth Cabana at Ballet Arts. He attended numerous summer dance programs, including the Kirov Academy of Ballet (under the direction of Oleg Vinogradov), School of American Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and Ballet Aspen. He joined the Universal Ballet Academy (Kirov Academy) at age fifteen. In 1992 he entered the San Francisco Ballet School and after one year he joined the company. For eleven seasons Jason performed with SFB in many classic ballets as well as choreography originated by Mark Morris, Stanton Welch, Yuri Possokov, James Kudelka, William Forsythe, and Helgi Tomasson, among others.
Jason has been teaching ballet for more than fifteen years and is licensed by the State of Oregon. He guest teaches on various faculties, including Boston Ballet School, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Vancouver Dance Theatre, Columbia Dance Ensemble, the Northwest Dance Project, and Ballet Repertory Theatre of New Mexico. Jason directs the Young Musicians and Artists Summer Program. Currently he is the ballet teacher at Arts and Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA) in Beaverton and is the assistant director for Dance West, ACMA’s pre-professional youth company. He is also on the faculty of the Northwest Dance Project.
Trained as a second-generation Balanchine dancer, Sarah Morris joined the Fort Worth/Dallas Ballet in 1993. Her repertoire included classic Balanchine ballets and original works by artistic director, Paul Mejia. Among her favorite roles were soloist in Balanchine’s La Valse, Mother in Mejia’s Les Noces and Stepsister in Cinderella. She later joined the Bruce Wood Dance company, a modern troupe heavily influenced by Twyla Tharp, Alvin Ailey, and Lar Lubovitch. During her professional dance career and since, she has enjoyed teaching ballet classes, staging, rehearsing, and auditioning children of all ages for musical theater and dance productions in a variety of venues. Sarah has taught all levels of ballet and choreographed numerous dance pieces in Texas, Idaho and now, New Mexico. Along with over a quarter century of teaching experience, she has also directed a non-profit dance studio for low income families, coordinated an outreach program to children in public schools, created an authentic after school dance program, directed a youth dance ensemble and served on the Board of Idaho Dance Theatre.
Cecelia Palladino-Jaramillo started dancing at age 5 and studied locally at Fishback Studio and Suzanne's School of Ballet. She continued her dance studies at the University of Utah as a Musical Theater major with a Ballet Emphasis. Ms Jaramillo is trained in Classical and Cecchetti Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Character Dance, and mime. Her ballet training has been with Ballet West, Bill Martin-Viscount, Leo Ahonen and Soili Arvola, Eugene Tanner, and Suzanne Johnston, among others. She received advanced jazz training from Gus Giordano, Luigi, and instructors in L.A. Her tap training was furthered through Tony Coppola, Jim Taylor, and Bril Barrett, and she studied character with Yurek Lazowsky at the University of Utah. Extended dance education includes Chicago National Dance Masters Association, Professional Dance Teacher's Association, National Dance Educators of Texas, and Cecchetti Council of America, where she became qualified to teach Cecchetti levels I-VI.
Ms. Jaramillo received the 2003 National Dance Educators Organization award for meritorious service to dance education in New Mexico and was a Bravo Award nominee in 2004 and 2005.
Teaching experience, starting in 1967, includes Fishback Studio, Albuquerque Ballet Co., Suzanne's School of Ballet, and The Music Studio (Salt Lake City). In 1987 she opened La Mesa Dance Academy, which she closed in August 2019, after almost 33 years. In 1992, Ms. Jaramillo created the Energy in Motion Dance Company, which had its final performance in 2019.
Ms. Jaramillo has performed, choreographed, and directed for ACLOA/MTS, in over 40 performances, since 1968. Choreography credits include Chicago, Evita, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, Cabaret, and Singin' in the Rain. She also choreographed and directed for Carlaw Productions and performed and choreographed numerous ballets for the original NM Ballet Co., under Suzanne Johnston.
