ADULT OPEN DIVISION
Ages 14 to Adult

Class Descriptions
BRT’s Open Program ballet classes are intended for indivduals who enjoy dance movement and appreciate the demands of ballet technique. These classes continue year-round and are available on a drop-in basis.
Adult Ballet I is structured as a high beginning-intermediate level and designed to incorporate those who have some knowledge of ballet, those who have had dance as a child and wish to begin again, and the first time dancers who have completed the Absolute Beginning Ballet program (see the below for details on this program).
Adult Ballet II classes are for students who are comfortable with the ballet curriculum and can move easily through the barre and center.
Stretch & Strength: Taught and designed by Alex Ossadnik this class provides a low impact full body workout that strengthens and stretches all major muscle groups.
Ballet Mat: Taught by Michelle Davis this class was originally intended for injured dancers but is used by anyone looking to build core strength in an artistic environment. It consists of ballet exercises adapted for non-weight bearing and is combined with Yoga and PT for a hybrid workout that will keep you fit even if injured and help reach greater levels of strength. For levels CI through Adults.

BRT COVID Safety Protocols
To help us strive to provide dancers with a safe environment to learn and practice their art we continue to add the following safeguards to protect our students and staff while the Covid-19 Community level remains high.
- Masks will be required to be worn while in the lobby and dressing room areas.
- Starting August 8, 2022, BRT’s lobby and dressing rooms will be open again.
- Also starting August 8th, Masks will be optional for dancers while dancing in the A, B, or C studios.
- BRT’s faculty will continue to wear masks while teaching.
- If you are not feeling well, have flu-like symptoms, or test positive for Covid-19, do not come to the studio. Many of the classes have options for making up a class or joining virtually. Follow local and CDC guidelines for isolation, testing, and recovery before returning to the studio.
- Dancers will keep their ballet bags and street clothes with them during class (please do NOT bring more than you need for the class).
- Class schedule has been staggered to limit traffic inside the building.
- Students need to arrive no more than 10 minutes before their designated time. They must also be picked up promptly after their class finishes.
- If the lobby does get crowded, we ask parents to please wait for your children outside the building.
- High contact surfaces, including but not limited to barres, equipment, doorknobs, etc., will be wiped down between classes.
- Hand sanitizer will be used before entering the studio and upon completion of class.
- Dancers must bring their own water bottle. Food and gum are not permitted in the studio.
BRT Home Studio Recommendations
Please make sure your Zoom username is your real name (student or parent) and not a generic name i.e. “iPad 2”. This is for attendance and security purposes.
Internet Speed
Run an internet speed test in the room you plan to use as your at-home studio. You can do this HERE. If speeds are slow, Zoom will freeze, and dancers may have difficulty fully participating in class. Wifi extenders can be purchased to help remedy this issue.
Absolute Beginner Ballet
BRT offers eight-week sessions of Absolute Beginner Ballet classes that provide interested adults with a fun and informative introduction to proper technique. This program is developed for beginning adult dancers with no previous experience or the student who wants to refine their technique at a basic level and focuses on the basic movements and foundations of ballet technique. If you have never studied ballet but always wanted to, this is the class for you.
Once a week an hour each week, Ms. Sarah Morris guides dancers through the fundamentals of ballet, $150 for 8 Weeks. Reservation is required 1 week prior to the start of each session.
