Ballet Repertory Theatre - Modern Intensive
June 10 – 14, 2024
A week with Corey Nagel! 5 days 5 hours each day! Classes include conditioning, modern technique, improvisation, and "Corey"ography. For experienced modern students (equivalent to BRT's levels CI, CII, D, E, and professional).
The week will conclude with a short studio performance on Friday at 3:30pm
Tuition: $320.00
A $50 non-refundable registration fee is due with the application and is applied towards tuition.
Daily class schedule
10:00-11:00am Mindfulness & Conditioning / Anatomy
11:00-12:30pm Modern Technique
*12:30-1:00pm Lunch
1:00-2:00pm Improvisation
2:00-3:30pm "Corey"ography
* Dancers must bring their own lunch.
Attire and supplies
All dancers will need a yoga mat. A TheraBand tied in a 12” circle or a Resistance Loop Exercise Band.
BRT has red medium 6’ TheraBand available for $4 each if needed.
Dancers identifying as female: Any solid color leotard, solid black leggings.
Dancers identifying as male and dancers identifying as non-binary: Any solid color form fitting t-shirt (tucked in) with solid black leggings.
COREY NAGEL
Corey Nagel has her B.S. in Dance from Illinois State University and has been on the dance faculties for ISU, Loyola University Chicago, Harper College, Columbia College Chicago, and the University of Chicago. Ms. Nagel had the opportunity to study with Gus Giordano, Lea Darwin, Patty Obey, Pirkoff Lawlor, Birute Barodicaite, Nana Shineflug, Rosemary Doolas, and Joel Hall while growing up around the Chicago area. She is a co-founder of Dance for Life/Next Generation and the McLean County Dance Association and developed the children’s program for two prominent Chicago studios. Ms. Nagel has worked with dancers from all over the states, been guest choreographer for multiple high schools, and has served as an adjudicator for dance festivals, dance companies, and dance scholarships. She is passionate about her art, thrives on building strong dancers, and loves sharing her knowledge of dance.
BRT reserves the right to cancel any class that does not have five or more full-paying students.
